Colorado National Monument

The Colorado National Monument is located in Fruita and Grand Junction, the last populated cities before hitting the Utah border. Many people pass this monument while cruising 85mph on the interstate, but it’s well worth the stop.

I suggest driving the full length of Rim Rock Drive which weaves throughout the many canyons and rock croppings. There are also many hikes within the park or if you’re feeling ambitious, I also recommend taking the bikes out on the road. Very few cars make their way through the park which leaves for an amazing 24 mile stretch of road, plus the pavement is in pristine condition!
