Finally enjoyed my first ride aboard a 29er mountain bike and now know what all the rage is about these bikes. They simply roll over everything like a monster truck and have the snappy feel of a road bike.
The bike I had the opportunity to ride was a 2012 Specialized Epic Comp 29 and it only topped the scales at 27 pounds, but felt lighter riding than my 24.5 pound Santa Cruz Blur. If I get into the Leadville 100 next year, you can bet I’ll be throwing my leg over a 29er!
